KYIV. March 7 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Dmytro Kotsiubaylo (Da Vinci soldier name), who was killed in action, is one of those whose personal history, character, and courage have forever become the history, character, and courage of Ukraine, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said.
“Today, Dmytro Kotsiubaylo, Da Vinci, Hero of Ukraine, volunteer, man-symbol, man of courage, was killed in action. Fighter of the 67th separate mechanized brigade, battalion commander. He died in the battle of Bakhmut, in the battle for Ukraine. He has defended our independence and the dignity of our people since 2014. One of the youngest heroes of Ukraine. One of those whose personal history, character, courage have forever become the history, character and courage of Ukraine,” Zelenskyy said in a video message.
For more than nine years, as the President noted, Ukrainian heroes have been fighting for the future of Ukraine in fierce battles for the state.
“Peace and relative security in the rear cities is their feat. Our confidence in Ukraine’s victory is their resilience and strength. Ukraine will always remember its heroes. Our memory of them will not perish. This enemy who came to Ukraine will disappear,” the head of state said.
"Thank you to all the soldiers whose steadfastness and perseverance destroy the army of the occupier in Donbas! Eternal memory to all who gave their lives for Ukraine!" Zelenskyy added.
