Nuland encourages Ukraine, Russia to cooperate to conclude 'Christmas ceasefire'
KYIV. Dec 1 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The United States is urging Ukraine and Russia to work together to develop a package of measures for a ceasefire during the Christmas season, U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Victoria Nuland has said.
"We see that the Christmas season is coming. It is time for resumption of complete ceasefire, for prisoner exchange, and for reopening crossing points. So we have been encouraging both Moscow and Kyiv to act together in developing a package of measures, particularly ceasefire in the context of the Christmas season. That would be a very good start," Nuland said at Kyiv Security Forum on Wednesday.
