No riots in Kazakh capital, situation quiet – Mir 24 TV channel
NUR-SULTAN. Jan 5 (Interfax) – The situation in Nur-Sultan is quiet, a correspondent for the Mir 24 TV channel, Vitaly Popov, reported from the capital of Kazakhstan on Wednesday evening.
"There are no disturbances in the city, there is heavy police presence. Not many people on the streets, obviously residents are seeing pictures from Almaty and western Kazakhstani towns and are afraid of going outside unnecessarily," Popov said during a live report.
"The internet in the city is turned off, social media are not working," he added.
