Metinvest continues producing and distributing stoves, solid fuel among defenders, civilians

KYIV. Jan 24 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Metinvest Mining and Metallurgical Group continues producing and distributing stoves and solid fuel among the defenders and civilians as part of support in the winter period, 5,000 field stoves from the steel produced by the company will be sent to the defenders and residents of front-line cities, the group said in a press release.

At the same time, Metinvest produces heating products at its own assets and in cooperation with partners.

Mobile stoves that can be installed in trenches and shelters began to be produced by Metinvest long before the onset of winter. They were delivered to the military on the front line, troop brigades, residents of front-line towns, where the war destroyed the communications network. Work continues, because there are still several cold months ahead, the company said.

To make as many field stoves as possible, Metinvest gives metal to partner organizations and enterprises that can also produce field stoves. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Metinvest-SMC has donated over 100 tonnes of steel sheets to them free of charge. Upon request, the metal was received by the operator of gas storage facilities Ukrtransgaz, manufacturing and commercial company Vzirec-2000, NGO Dopomoga.Razom, Ternopil military registration and enlistment office, Union Chornobyl (Ternopil), leaders of volunteer organizations, and representatives of military units.

The press service said that, depending on the specific modification of a mobile stove, it takes from 50 to 80 kg of metal to make it, and the transferred metal from Metinvest-SMC will be enough to manufacture from 1,250 to 2,000 stoves.

At the same time, metal furnaces are also produced by the group’s enterprises. So, Metinvest-SMC has manufactured more than 200 such stoves, and specialists from Zaporizhia, Kamianske, Kryvy Rih and Pokrovsk have made almost 3,200 stoves together. At the same time, the typical designs of mobile stoves have been improved for more convenient use by both civilians and on the front lines. Usually, heating equipment is given to the residents of the Avdiyivka community near the front, and the Points of Invincibility are equipped with them. The lion’s share of stoves goes to the positions of the troops.

According to the company, such stoves can be placed anywhere and fired with available fuel. Due to the sufficient thickness of the walls and the optimal design, they provide heat immediately after ignition. Usually, mobile ovens can heat about 50 square meters of premises, dugout or special shelter.

In addition to metal stoves, Metinvest provides fuel for them – firewood and coal. The enterprises of Pokrovsk and Zaporizhia sent almost 90 cubic meters of firewood to shelters, another 276 cubic meters from Zaporizhia was sent to defenders. Also, Metinvest workers from Kryvy Rih sent it to the Avdiyivka Coke Plant. In addition, Metinvest Pokrovskvuhillia provides firewood for employees who stay in the city.
