Bodies of seven civilians shot dead by Russian military exhumed in Kherson region

KYIV. Nov 30 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Law enforces exhumed the bodies of seven civilians who were shot dead by the Russian military in April 2022 in the village of Pravdyne, Kherson region, the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine (PGO) has said.

"The Prosecutor’s Office of Kherson region jointly with police investigators and experts, within the framework of criminal proceedings, exhumed and examined the bodies of civilians who died as a result of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation. According to the investigation, in April 2022, during the occupation of the village of Pravdyne in Kherson region by Russia, the Russian military shot dead seven civilians in a house. After that, the invaders blew up the house with the executed people," it said on the Telegram channel on Wednesday.

According to preliminary information, there were employees who guarded irrigation equipment near the village and a minor girl in the house.

"The deceased were buried not far from the scene and the girl’s parents buried her at the local cemetery. A superficial examination of the bodies revealed signs of violent death. Some of them have damaged skulls, probably due to bullet wounds. Rope was found on the wrists of two more," the PGO said.

All of the bodies were sent for expertise. The circumstances and witnesses of the crime are being established.

The pre-trial investigation into the criminal case under Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine continues under the procedural guidance of Kherson Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
