Ukrzaliznytsia does not foresee rise in cargo traffic tariffs in fiscal plan for 2023
KYIV. Aug 12 (Interfax-Ukraine) – JSC Ukrzaliznytsia does not plan to raise tariffs for freight transportation in 2023, Yevhen Liaschenko, a member of the company’s board, said at a briefing in Kyiv on Friday.
"We do not include (in the financial plan for 2023) an increase in tariffs next year. We understand that this would be correct, but we still need to further discuss this issue with the market," he said.
He noted the lack of growth in tariffs in the financial plan for the next year is compensated by the expected increase in the volume of cargo transportation.
"We see that next year will be more balanced, but everything will depend on state support and investment activity," he explained.
According to the expert, in 2023 a large number of repairs and infrastructure restoration are planned, for which the company’s own funds are not enough.
