Rada adopts as a basis two bills on benefits for industry

KYIV. Jan 12 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Verkhovna Rada adopted as a basis two bills on benefits for industry, in particular, exempting from VAT and duties the import of equipment and components for own production until the end of martial law.

According to information on the website of the parliament, 246 and 234 votes were cast for relevant bills No. 8298 and No. 8299 at a plenary session on Thursday, with the required minimum of 226.

"This draft law is a consequence and result of our meetings held with business during the autumn and December of last year at the initiative of the prime minister and on the basis of the Cabinet of Ministers and our financial committee," said head of the committee on finance, taxation and customs policy Danylo Hetmantsev, presenting the document.

According to him, it is also about the release of metallurgy from royalty for ore, which is used to make metal.

"Today we have a 65% drop in production in the industry that is considered a priority," the head of the committee explained.

He added that it is proposed to provide farmers with benefits for the fourth group of a single tax for territories under occupation, in a war zone or areas contaminated with mines.

"In addition, we propose to extend the period of use of cash registrars, even if it has expired … We propose not to apply administrative and economic sanctions for enterprises for violating the rules for the employment of people with disabilities. Business is asking for these rules," Hetmantsev also said, adding that there are some other norms, "more sectoral, smaller".

"Undoubtedly, before the second reading we will hold consultations with the International Monetary Fund and get a balanced document," he stressed.
