Putin orders Gerasimov to seize Donbas by March 2023 – Ukrainian intelligence
KYIV. Jan 16 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Russian President Vladimir Putin order the new Commander of the Russian forces in Ukraine, Valery Gerasimov, to seize Donbas by March 2023, Spokesman for the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Defense Ministry of Ukraine Andriy Yusov has said.
"Anyway, we can speak about the priority direction for the Rushists – it is Donbas – and a new deadline he [Putin] set this time for Gerasimov as a new ‘head of the special military operation’, which indeed is the war against Ukraine. Gerasimov downs these goals even lower – these goals are to seize Donbas and create there a security zone by March," he said on the air of the Freedom television channel on Monday.
Yusov recalled that it is not the first deadline set by the occupiers to seize Donbas.
"Nothing will work this time as well," he said.
