Prometey to acquire railway grain carriers under leasing agreement with FUIB for $3 mln
KYIV. April 5 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Prometey group of companies has signed a leasing agreement with First Ukrainian International Bank (FUIB, Kyiv) for $3 million, which provides for the production of railroad cars for grain transportation, the company reported on its website.
“The positive credit history of Prometey, the availability of equity and transparent sources of income – all this allows us to raise funds in the domestic market, in particular, to cooperate with leasing institutions, state-owned banks, as well as Western banks,” the head of the corporate finance sector at Prometey, Iryna Ivchenko, said.
The group noted that in the second year of the war, its companies are experiencing an enormous burden due to work in limited conditions, but continue to “actively move and fulfill the obligations previously assumed on time.”
At the same time, Prometey expressed its readiness to continue cooperation with FUIB, subject to an increase in the funding limit.
As reported, in January 2023, Prometey announced its intention to expand the fleet of grain trucks to 200 units. As of January 2023, the holding had 52 own grain carriers.
Prometey provides services for the storage, processing and logistics of crops. Before the Russian aggression, the holding owned 34 elevators in Mykolaiv, Kirovohrad, Kyiv, Khmelnytsky, Zaporizhia, Sumy, Odesa, Kherson, and Dnipropetrovsk regions.
In addition, the group has its own land bank of 20,000 hectares, which it intends to increase this year to 50,000 hectares, and in the future – up to 100,000 hectares.
