Profit of Ukrainian banks more than doubles in Jan-Feb – NBU
KYIV. March 21 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The profit of Ukrainian banks in January-February 2023 amounted to UAH 21.5 billion, which is 2.2 times more than in the same period of 2022 (UAH 9.9 billion), the press service of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) said.
The regulator noted that the income of banks over the two months increased by 33% – up to UAH 65.8 billion, and expenses – by 12%, up to UAH 44.3 billion.
At the same time, fee and commission income doubled to UAH 15.582 billion.
At the same time, the result from revaluation and purchase and sale operations increased by 2.4 times – up to UAH 4.649 billion against UAH 1.9 billion for the same period last year.
At the same time, allocations to reserves decreased by 2.3 times – to UAH 2.517 billion, and commission expenses – by 11.9%, to UAH 7.5 billion.
As reported, Ukrainian banks in 2022 reduced their net profit by 3.1 times – to UAH 24.716 billion compared to UAH 77.376 billion in 2021.
