Owner of Kolo chain BGV Group Management buys FC Polissia
KYIV. Aug 28 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The investment company BGV Group Management, which develops the Kolo grocery store chain, has acquired Polissia football club (Zhytomyr).
"Our company has another ambitious project related to the development of sports. Now we need to make sure that FC Polissia plays in the country’s top football division," said Serhiy Voitsekhovsky, co-founder of the Kolo network, member of the BGV Group board of directors.
According to the club, the lawyers of the city council and BGV Group Management are agreeing on the details of the transfer of rights and obligations. The acquisition decision must also be approved at a session of the city council.
"The BGV Group company has been assisting the club for more than a year, bought a bus and a car. Now it will become the owner and will develop the team further," mayor of Zhytomyr Serhiy Sukhomlyn said.
He added that the funds that were previously allocated to finance the club, the city will direct to the development of children’s sports in Zhytomyr.
The founder of the BGV Group Management investment company is Hennadiy Butkevych, co-owner of the ATB corporation. The investment company owns assets in mining and retail.
