Over 50,000 citizens, including 6,000 children, leave Donetsk region during mandatory evacuation since August – Reintegration Ministry
KYIV. March 7 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Since August 2022, more than 50,000 people have left the region as part of the mandatory evacuation from Donetsk region, the Ministry of Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine said.
“From August 2022, the mandatory evacuation from Donetsk region continues. Thus, in seven months, almost 50,000 citizens moved to safe regions. Among them, more than 6,000 children and more than 2,000 people with limited mobility,” the ministry’s press service said.
The department said the evacuation from the de-occupied territories, which began last fall, also continues.
In particular, more than 24,000 people left Kharkiv region in six months, and more than 19,000 citizens evacuated from the liberated territories of Kherson region in four months.
