Number of completed NCTS transit declarations up by 88.6% in March – Ministry of Finance

KYIV. April 5 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The number of transit declarations issued in the NCTS electronic transit system in March reached 1,071: 786 for exit from Ukraine and 285 for entry, the Ministry of Finance reported.

According to his data, this is 88.6% more than in March, when 364 and 204, respectively, were formalized, and the January figure (158 and 309) was exceeded by 2.3 times.

In general, according to the Ministry of Finance, over the first six months of using the NCTS transit system, 2,815 declarations were registered, of which 1,904 as a customs office of departure and 911 as a customs office of destination.

Top five origin countries are Belgium, Germany, Poland, Latvia and Turkey, while destinations are Latvia, Germany, Poland, Lithuania and Italy.

As the Ministry of Finance said, the number of transfers initiated in Ukraine for six months amounted to 1,904, of which almost 800 were in March, which is twice as much as a month earlier.

It is noted that the State Customs Service is also actively working to attract enterprises to provide authorization for the use of transit simplifications in accordance with the NCTS Convention.

“Some 25 authorizations have already been granted for the use of transit facilitation, of which nine authorizations are for the use of a general guarantee, 14 authorizations are for the facilities of authorized consignors and consignees, and two authorizations are for the use of special type seals. More than 10 applications from enterprises are at different stages of consideration,” the statement said.

In total, since October 1, 2022, the State Customs Service has registered 12 general guarantees in the NCTS guarantee management system, eight of which are valid at the beginning of April 2023.

Interaction is also carried out with the customs authorities of other countries within administrative assistance in accordance with the Convention. Over six months, more than 70 requests for the proper completion of the joint transit procedure were initiated and about 100 requests received from the customs administrations of other countries were processed.

According to the Ministry of Finance, as part of providing advice to both business representatives and customs officials, since the beginning of the international application of NCTS, the State Customs Service’s Joint Transit Support Service has processed more than 500 requests.
