NBU predicts return of key policy rate to level below 20% in late 2024
KYIV. Oct 20 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) predicts that the key policy rate will remain at 25% until the second quarter of 2024, with a return to a level below 20% as early as the end of 2024, according to the forecast of the NBU released on Thursday.
According to the published document, with a probability of 30%, the refinancing rate from the first quarter of 2023 will be at the level of 25-30%, and by the end of 2024 – 18-26%.
It is noted that with a probability of 50%, the key policy rate from the second quarter of 2023 will be in the range of 18-39%, and by the end of 2024 – 13-35%.
The NBU also admits that with a probability of 70%, from the second quarter of 2023 the rate will be in the range of 15-47%, and by the end of 2024 – 9-42%.
