Naftogaz urges heat producers to more actively conclude contracts for gas supply
KYIV. Aug 27 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The number of heat producers that have concluded three-year contracts for the purchase of natural gas with the gas supply company Naftogaz Trading increased by only 2.7% over the week, or by 13 heat producers and associations of co-owners of apartment buildings, the Integrated Communications Department of NJSC Naftogaz Ukrainy said.
According to the report, as of August 26, such agreements were concluded by 493 heat producers (as of August 20 – 480), which is approximately 45% of enterprises that received gas from Naftogaz in the previous heating season. Some 572 enterprises applied to conclude three-year contracts (a week ago there were 554 such enterprises).
Due to the low activity on the conclusion of contracts, Naftogaz Trading appeals to heat producers and associations of co-owners of apartment buildings with their own boiler houses with a request to expedite the submission of relevant applications or to intensify the search for alternative gas suppliers, and to consumers – with a request to check whether heat producers have contracts for the supply of gas, which is a prerequisite for the timely entry of the enterprise into the heating season.
The company said that Volyn region remains the only region where all seven enterprises that produce heat and hot water and cooperated with Naftogaz last year have contracts. According to it, three leaders in terms of the dynamics of the contract conclusion also included Khmelnytsky and Cherkasy regions: 96.3% and 76.9% [a week earlier – 89% and 73%] of enterprises traditionally cooperating with Naftogaz have already signed contracts for the purchase of gas. The list of regions with low rates of contractual work with Naftogaz Trading remained unchanged: Zakarpattia, Poltava, Kharkiv and Odesa regions, where the number of contracts does not exceed one third of the potential ones.
Naftogaz once again reminded that gas continues to rise in price in international markets, and now the spot price in Ukraine is more than twice as high as its supply within the framework of three-year contracts for heat producers.
