Kuleba on results of meeting of Ukraine-NATO commission: We increase Alliance's budget to finance projects for AFU, accelerate supply of weapons for counteroffensive
KYIV. April 5 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba has said that according to the results of the meeting of the Ukraine –NATO commission, it was possible to increase the Alliance’s budget to finance projects for the Ukrainian army, as well as accelerate the delivery of some types of previously promised weapons.
Speaking at a briefing following a meeting of the Ukraine–NATO commission in Brussels, Kuleba said that “there is no fatigue” from the war in Ukraine, but on the contrary, “a lot of words of support and the announcement of new commitments” were voiced.
“In particular, the Netherlands announced that they are transferring several tens of millions of euros to the NATO fund, through which projects for Ukraine are financed. As a result of the meeting, we increased the NATO budget to finance projects for Ukraine, the Armed Forces and accelerated the supply of several types of promised weapons,” the Foreign Minister said.
He added that this was achieved not only thanks to the Ukraine-NATO meeting, but also through bilateral meetings with colleagues in Brussels. Including with the U.S. Secretary of State and his Turkish counterpart, a meeting with the Spanish Foreign Minister is also planned today.
“The main goal – to speed up the supply of everything necessary for the Ukrainian counteroffensive – was achieved here in a number of positions,” Kuleba said.
