Govt approves project to allocate $2,000 in aid to pivotal schools at expense of UNICEF
KYIV. Dec 6 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the implementation of a project to allocate $2,000 to pivotal schools in aid at the expense of UNICEF.
As representative of the Cabinet of Ministers in the Verkhovna Rada Taras Melnychuk said on Telegram, the corresponding decision was made at a government meeting on Tuesday.
In particular, a proposal was approved for the implementation of a joint project with the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) to provide financial assistance to pivotal institutions of general secondary education in the 2022/23 academic year.
It was established that within the project implementation, pivotal institutions of general secondary education have the right to receive financial assistance at the expense of UNICEF funds to address the following issues: purchase of equipment for school canteens; carrying out routine repairs of school canteens to improve hygiene, in particular, repairing plumbing, ventilation, electrical networks and floors.
It is envisaged that the provision of financial assistance is carried out one-time in the amount of $2,000 for each pivotal institution.
