Govt allocates UAH 400 mln for restoration of Kharkiv region – Ministry of Regional Development
KYIV. Sept 14 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Cabinet of Ministers has allocated UAH 400 million from the reserve fund of the state budget to eliminate the consequences of hostilities in Kharkiv region, Minister for Communities and Territories Development Oleksiy Chernyshov said.
"Today, the government has allocated UAH 400 million from the reserve fund of the state budget to Kharkiv region to eliminate the consequences of hostilities and restore infrastructure," Chernyshov wrote on Facebook.
He noted that Kharkiv local authorities and relevant services have developed a plan for the complete restoration of electricity supply in the city and are working on its implementation.
According to the minister, additional units of the State Emergencies Service have already been sent to Kharkiv. The issue of providing the city with additional energy generators is being addressed.
Representatives of the Ministry of Regional Development, the Ministry of Energy and the State Emergencies Service will also work on site to coordinate the issue of the complete restoration of the city’s power supply, assess the situation and additional needs for materials and equipment.
"This Russian attack on critical infrastructure on the eve of the start of the heating season confirmed the aggressor’s intention to leave our civilians without electricity, water and heat," Chernyshov stressed.
He also noted that earlier funds had already been allocated for the region to restore the infrastructure of settlements. Almost 200 objects have been restored.
"Communities should feel confident and comfortable and understand that they have the support and protection of the state," the expert said.
