Fedorov expects completion of construction industry digitalization reform this year

KYIV. Jan 13 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov expects the completion of the construction industry digitalization reform this year.

"The information system [Unified State Electronic System in the Construction Sector] has become the only system through which the construction industry began to receive services. This year, we will 100% complete the digitalization reform in this area, despite the resistance of various parties. There are really a lot of correct comments that just need to be clarified or finalized with government regulations," Fedorov said during a briefing on Friday.

According to him, at present, more than 1.9 million documents are stored in the Unified State Electronic System in the Construction Sector, and since the start of its work, 1.3 million users have used the portal, receiving 172,000 services.

Transparent recording of any actions in the system will make it possible to effectively investigate any illegal actions in the construction sector in the future, the Deputy Prime Minister is convinced. In particular, earlier, thanks to the operation of the electronic system, SBU officers prevented the scheme for registering illegal construction in Kyiv region, and also stopped the issuance of fake certificates of professional attestation of architects, Fedorov said.

As reported, on December 13, 2022, the Verkhovna Rada adopted in general bill No. 5655 on reforming the urban planning sector. Some 228 MPs voted for it. A petition demanding that the bill be vetoed has gained more than 25,000 signatures and is awaiting consideration by the president.
