EU Ambassador: I look forward to reformed HCJ demonstrating rule of law, honesty in practice
KYIV. Jan 12 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Head of the EU Delegation to Ukraine Matti Maasikas welcomes the election of all eight members of the High Council of Justice (HCJ) according to their quota and expects the reformed HCJ to demonstrate the rule of law and honesty in practice.
“Great news from the Ukrainian Congress of Judges. 8 new members of the High Council of Justice have just been appointed. Key judicial governing bodies can thus restart work. Looking forward to the reformed HCJ showcasing rule of law and integrity in practice,” he said on Twittter.
