Champion Stadium in Irpin to be restored as part of UNITED24 project – Oleksiy Kuleba
KYIV. Jan 13 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Champion stadium in Irpin, damaged by Russian invaders, will be rebuilt as part of the UNITED 24 project with the assistance of Ukrainian football manager, a former professional football player Andriy Shevchenko, head of Kyiv Regional Military Administration Oleksiy Kuleba has said.
"The stadium was shelled by Russian invaders in March. Before the full-scale war, it was the biggest sports facility of the merged territorial community with stands for 1,000 seats. The arena had a tennis court, a multi-purpose sports ground, several training halls and locker rooms. All-Ukrainian and international competitions were held here," Kuleba wrote on the Telegram channel.
He pointed out that he inspected the location together with the ambassador of the UNITED24 platform Andriy Shevchenko, who took over the restoration of the Champion.
"Very soon this stadium will again become a center for the sporting success of young people," Kuleba is sure.
