Blackouts to increase due to last Russian missile attack – DTEK Energy CEO
KYIV. Jan 16 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Due to the Russian missile attack on Saturday, the volume of electricity generation by DTEK power plants will decrease, and the number of blackouts will increase, DTEK Energy CEO Ildar Salee said at the United News national telethon on Saturday.
"Already now we see that the volume of generation will be less. Speaking specifically about us, one station is completely stopped, so there will be less electricity, and I think that there will be more outages, unfortunately," he said.
Saleev said the situation in the energy system has deteriorated after the last shelling, and it will take more than one day for it to be at least partially restored.
According to him, in order to fully restore the power unit at one of the thermal power plants that was destroyed on Saturday, the company will need to completely dismantle the old damaged equipment and install new equipment in the same place.
In general, it will take years to fully restore the destroyed energy facilities from the beginning of Russian aggression, Saleev said.
As reported, the Russian invaders fired at two thermal power plants of DTEK, one of them stopped generating electricity.
