AFU repel enemy attacks in area of 16 settlements in eastern Ukraine – General Staff
KYIV. Jan 16 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) repelled enemy attacks in the region of 16 settlements of Ukraine. Ukrainian aviation and missile forces carried out 20 strikes on the enemy’s concentration, the General Staff reported.
"The enemy continues offensive operations on Bakhmut and Avdiyivka axes, that brings russian side heavy personnel losses though," according to a morning report on Facebook.
Over the past 24 hours, Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled attacks the vicinities of Bilohorivka (Luhansk region); Verkhnokamianske, Krasnopolivka, Spirne, Sil, Bakhmut, Klischiyivka, Novobakhmutivka, Velyka Novosilka, Prechystivka, Krasnohorivka, Pobieda, Novomykhailivka, Vodiane, Mayorsk and Maryinka (Donetsk region).
During the past day, Ukrainian Air Force conducted nine air strikes on concentrations of Russian troops, and two strikes on its air defense assets.
At the same time, Ukrainian missile and artillery troops attacked one command post, six concentrations of Russian troops and military equipment, one ammunition depot, and one electronic warfare station of the enemy.
