Deposits of individuals in Deposit Guarantee Fund member banks UAH 4.7bln down in July
KYIV. Aug 26 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The amount of deposits of individuals in banks participating in the Deposit Guarantee Fund as of August 1 totaled UAH 624.7 billion, which is UAH 4.7 billion less than at the beginning of July 2021, the fund said on Thursday.
According to its data, by the beginning of August, deposits of individuals in the fund’s member banks in hryvnia amounted to UAH 382.3 billion, foreign currency deposits amounted to UAH 242.4 billion.
The fund said that as of August 1, 2021, the funds of 98% of depositors (in the amount of UAH 10,000 to UAH 200,000) in the participating banks of the fund are fully secured deposits. The total amount of these deposits is UAH 241.24 billion.
According to the report, the share of sole proprietors in the structure of depositors at the beginning of August was 3.4%, and the amount of their deposits was UAH 56.4 billion (9% of the total sum).
As of August 1, some 71 banks were members of the fund.
