Ukraine didn't spend state budget money on flights of civil aircraft from Afghanistan – FM
KYIV. Aug 26 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ukraine did not spend state budget funds on flights from Afghanistan of two civil aircraft, by which it used to evacuate citizens of Ukraine and foreigners, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba has said.
"As of now, we have taken out two civilian aircraft and one military. The military aircraft is financed from the state budget, but this is not in the Foreign Ministry budget, so I have nothing to say here (…) As for the two civilian aircraft by which we used to take out citizens, then the Ukrainian state pays nothing for the flights of these aircraft – this evacuation was carried out at the level of political agreements between the Ukrainian state and the owners of these aircraft. But we did not pay the budget money to finance the flight of these aircraft," Kuleba said at an online briefing on Thursday.
The Minister emphasized that this is the art of diplomacy – to quickly find such combinations and agreements that will quickly save the citizens of Ukraine.
