Kharkiv region resident, who became school director during occupation regime, sentenced to two years in prison for collaboration – prosecutor's office
KHARKIV. April 8 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Novomoskovsky court of Dnipropetrovsk region found a 48-year-old resident of the village of Savintsi of Izium district in Kharkiv region guilty of collaboration (Part 3 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
“He was sentenced to two years of imprisonment with deprivation of the right to hold any positions in public administration and local self-government bodies for a period of 10 years … Currently, there is a deadline for an appeal,” the press service of Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office reports.
As it was established, a resident of Savintsi, at the suggestion of the occupiers in August last year, voluntarily took the position of school director. He introduced the Russian curriculum and forced the school staff to work according to this plan. In addition, the man ordered the staff to paint over the blue-yellow color on the walls of the classrooms and destroy all corners with Ukrainian symbols in the school. The work plan of the “director” was to study all laws and regulations for the transition of the educational process into the legal field of the Russian Federation.
In court, the accused fully admitted his guilt.
