Kniazha VIG raises gross premiums by 15.6%, reduces payments by 3.9% in 2022

KYIV. March 27 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Kniazha Vienna Insurance Group (Kyiv) collected UAH 1.229 billion of insurance premiums in 2022, which is 15.61% more than in the same period a year earlier, according to the website of the Standard-Rating agency regarding the confirmation of the financial reliability/credit rating of the insurer at the level of “uaAA+” based on the results of the specified period.

According to the agency, in 2022, income from individuals increased by 22.45%, to UAH 897.822 million, and from reinsurers by 97.3%, to UAH 2.044 million. The share of individuals in the company’s gross premiums was 73.07%, while the share of reinsurers was 0.17%.

Insurance premiums sent to reinsurers in 2022 increased by 46.81% compared to 2021, to UAH 413.644 million. Thus, the participation rate of reinsurance companies in insurance premiums increased by 7.16 percentage points to 33.67%.

Net premiums increased by 4.35% to UAH 815.056 million, while earned premiums increased by 11.78% to UAH 798.278 million.

The volume of insurance payments and indemnities made by the company in 2022 compared to a year earlier decreased by 3.85%, to UAH 408.099 million. Thus, the level of payments decreased by 6.73 percentage points, to 33.21%.

Last year, the company received a net profit of UAH 39.030 million. Its assets increased by 30.58%, to UAH 1.939 billion, its equity capital – by 12.15%, to UAH 398.045 million, liabilities – by 36.36%, to UAH 1.541 billion, cash and cash equivalents – by 2.18 times, up to UAH 161.53 million.
