LVIV. March 4 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ukrainian Prosecutor General Andriy Kostin and U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland signed a memorandum of understanding between the U.S. Department of Justice and the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) to investigate Russian war crimes.
“We deeply appreciate the exceptional efforts that are being made at the national level in the states that have joined the JIT to individually document the facts, collect evidence, and investigate international crimes committed in Ukraine,” the Ukrainian Prosecutor General said on Friday during the signing of the memorandum in Lviv.
The Prosecutor General stressed that he was glad to welcome the huge support for Ukraine from the U.S. Attorney General.
“Merrick, welcome to our team… I believe that the memorandum of understanding signed between the JIT and the U.S. Department of Justice will allow us to strengthen our cooperation… We are waiting for this collaboration and a successful result,” Kostin said.
