Kormotech signs contract with European retailer Kaufland

KYIV. March 2 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Ukrainian pet food manufacturer Kormotech (Lviv) has signed a contract with leading European retailer Kaufland, the company’s press service has told Interfax-Ukraine.

“Preliminarily, we will export wet food to four of the eight countries where Kaufland operates. But we do not rule out that over time we will expand the geography and range of orders,” Head of Sales at Latin America, Western, Northern and Southern Europe Nazar Shchyrba at Kormotech said.

The company said that Kormotech products will soon appear on the shelves of Kaufland hypermarkets in Bulgaria and Romania, and then in Poland and Croatia. First orders include wet food items under the MyLove and CLUB 4 PAWS brands.

Shchyrba said that negotiations on Kaufland started in August 2022 and already in February 2023 the company received the first order.

Kormotech LLC is a leading Ukrainian manufacturer of food for cats and dogs. The company exports products to 40 countries, including the United States, the UK, Germany, France, Finland, Sweden, the Netherlands, Spain, Italy, Poland, Turkey and Chile.

The ultimate beneficiaries of Kormotech are Olena and Rostyslav Vovk.

The Kaufland hypermarket chain is part of the Schwarz Gruppe group of companies, operates 1,200 stores in Germany, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Romania, Bulgaria, Croatia and Moldova, and plans to enter the Australian market. The Kaufland product range includes a wide range of household goods, food, accessories, sporting goods, clothing and more.
