Stefanchuk considers it necessary to amend legislation to allow parliamentary sessions to be held online
KYIV. Sept 20 (Interfax-Ukraine) – First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk considers it necessary to amend the legislation to allow parliamentary sessions to be held online.
"In such a situation [when speaker of parliament Dmytro Razumkov is on self-isolation due to coronavirus disease], as I see it, it is necessary to adopt legislation on the possibility of transferring the activities of the Verkhovna Rada in certain cases online," he said at a meeting of the Coordination Council of the leaders of the factions and groups in Kyiv on Monday.
He recalled that the legislation provides only for online meetings of committees.
Razumkov on Monday chaired a meeting of Rada faction leaders remotely.
