Number of successful identifications in BankID NBU system grows by 8.6% in 2022
KYIV. Jan 17 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The number of successful identifications in the BankID system of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) in 2022 amounted to 32.8 million, which is 8.6% more than in 2021 (30.2 million), the press service of the regulator has reported.
According to the report, the share of customers of banks, who are holders of payment cards with access to the BankID system, increased to 99.9% over the year due to the accession of Industrialbank, Clearing House Bank, Unex Bank, BIS bank to the system, as well as new applications from TAScombank (Neobank) and Concord Bank (ConcordBank).
In addition, 13 additional institutions joined the system in 2022 as service providers. Accordingly, at the end of the year, the BankID NBU system consisted of 137 participants – 41 bank-identifiers and 96 subscribers-service providers.
At the end of 2022, the NBU approved the introduction of standardized data sets and differentiated inter-subscriber tariffs for system subscribers. In particular, for standardized data sets, different rates will be set (from UAH 5 to UAH 20 per one successful confirmation) depending on the amount of user data transmitted in the electronic confirmation of identification.
"In our opinion, such innovations, due to more flexible tariffs, will help expand the scope of the NBU BankID system and create new products by subscribers. As a result, citizens will have an opportunity to access an even greater number of remote services," Deputy Director of the Payment Systems and Innovative Development Department at the NBU Olha Vasyleva said.
