NEURC approves procedure for certification of gas storage operator
KYIV. Jan 17 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The approved procedure for certification of a gas storage operator will make it possible to ensure the certification of JSC Ukrtransgaz as a European operator of underground gas storage (UGS) facilities and bring its activities to international standards.
This is stated in the rationale for the draft resolution of the National Energy and Utilities Regulatory Commission of Ukraine (NEURC) approved at a meeting on Tuesday.
"The specified draft resolution was developed to implement the norms of European legislation, ensure certification of the gas storage operator, bring its activities to international standards, and comply with the requirements for preventing risks for the security of natural gas supplies," the regulator said.
The resolution on approval of the procedure for implementation of the certification procedure for a gas storage operator shall enter into force on the day following the day of its official promulgation.
The approved procedure, in particular, contains a list of documents, data and information that an enterprise submitting a corresponding request for certification must submit to the energy regulator.
