Vessels passing through 'grain corridor' insured in usual way – Solsky
KYIV. Jan 16 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Termination by the international mutual insurance association International Group of P&I Clubs from January 1, 2023 of reinsurance of war-related risks in the region of Ukraine, Moldova, Russia and Belarus and did not lead to a halt in the export of crops from Ukrainian ports, ships receive insurance as usual, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Mykola Solsky has said.
"There were such signals from some foreign companies they have a warning regarding freight in the Ukrainian ports of Big Odesa… Most companies confirmed the possibility of insurance, and further negotiations are underway on this issue. In any case, the current freight for February is insured, and, thank God, it cannot be said that these statements have affected the price of crops," the minister said at a briefing in Kyiv on Monday.
