Ukraine joins Marrakesh Treaty on facilitating access for blind to published works – law
KYIV. Jan 12 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Verkhovna Rada has adopted a law on Ukraine’s accession to the Marrakesh Treaty on facilitating access for the blind, visually impaired or other Disabilities due to disability to perceive printed information to published works.
The adoption of relevant bill No. 0159 was generally supported by 310 MPs at the plenary session on Thursday, said Yaroslav Zhelezniak, a member of the Holos faction.
Ukraine’s accession to the Marrakesh Treaty will facilitate the access of these persons to scientific, technical, medical and other professional literature, textbooks in an accessible format in foreign languages, as well as opportunities to study foreign languages.
