Ukraine expects delivery of another 223 X-ray units of various types – Health Ministry
KYIV. Dec 21 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Since the beginning of the war, more than 300 X-ray diagnostic units of various types have been delivered to Ukraine, and another 223 are expected to be delivered, the Ministry of Health reported.
"Since the beginning of the war, 313 X-ray diagnostic units of various types have already been delivered to Ukrainian hospitals, and another 223 units are on the way," the ministry’s website says, citing Health Minister Viktor Liashko.
The Minister of Health recalled that the government adopted amendments to the resolution on some issues of ensuring the implementation of economic activities under martial law, simplifying the supply of equipment using ionizing radiation sources (IRS), the use of which was subject to mandatory licensing.
"Since the stage of obtaining licenses takes up to two and a half months, the commissioning of medical equipment was delayed for an appropriate period, which made it impossible to use it, and hence the provision of [appropriate] medical care to Ukrainians," he said.
The amendments, in particular, provide for the declarative principle of obtaining the right to use IRS for the needs of medical institutions of municipal property, as well as medical institutions and business entities that are customers of purchases related to the management of the Ministry of Health.
