NBU net sales up to $834.1 mln last week

KYIV. Dec 19 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Net sales of U.S. dollars by the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) rose for the fourth week in a row and this time significantly – to $834.1 million from $580.8 million a week earlier.

According to the information of the National Bank on its website, from November 12 to December 16, it purchased $7.3 million, which corresponds to the usual purchase volumes during the war, while it sold $841.4 million compared to $583.4 million a week earlier.

On the cash market, the hryvnia remained at about UAH 39.95/$1 at the end of the week with a narrow spread.

As reported, the volume of interventions of the National Bank in November decreased to $1.57 billion from $2.03 billion in October, $2.75 billion in September, while international reserves increased by 10.7% to $27.42 billion.

In general, from the beginning of the year to December 16, inclusive, the NBU purchased $3.25 billion and EUR 111.0 million on the market, and sold $24.83 billion and EUR 1.789 billion.

Including since the beginning of the war, the purchase of foreign currency has reached $2.594 billion and EUR 111.0 million, and the sale – $22.06 billion and EUR 1.789 billion.
