High Anti-Corruption Court arrests ex-MP Mykytas for offering EUR 22 mln bribe to Dnipro mayor

KYIV. Oct 21 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The High Anti-Corruption Court has arrested former MP of Ukraine Maksym Mykytas in connection with suspicion of offering a bribe in the amount of EUR22 million to Dnipro mayor Borys Filatov for the opportunity to build a metro in this city.

"The High Anti-Corruption Court ruled on the detention of former MP Maksym Mykytas until December 16 with the alternative of a bail of UAH 260 million," the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office told Interfax-Ukraine on Thursday.

As reported, Mykytas was detained on October 18 on suspicion of offering a bribe in the amount of EUR 22 million to the mayor of Dnipro.

"On October 18, 2022, under the procedural guidance of SAPO prosecutors, NABU investigators detained the MP of Ukraine of the VIII convocation on suspicion of offering to provide unlawful benefits on an especially large scale," the SAPO informed earlier.
