Russia accelerates pseudo-referendum due to AFU’s success at front – Haidai
KYIV. Sept 26 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Russia has accelerated the holding of a pseudo-referendum in the occupied Ukrainian territories in order to consolidate at least some status there in connection with the successful counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine at the front, said head of Luhansk Regional Military Administration Serhiy Haidai.
"The successes of the Armed Forces prompted the Russian regime to quickly hold this referendum, because they need, first of all, to consolidate the territories they occupied with at least some status. Secondly, declare war there and take tougher actions in terms of mobilization, because they will lose on all fronts," Haidai said on the air of the national marathon on Sunday.
He also noted that in a week, probably, the AFU will be able to "please with good news, waiting for more than 300,000 residents of Luhansk region."
