EVA's share in structure of Ukrainian drogerie chains up to 77% – CEO

KYIV. Sept 6 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The share of EVA, the largest Ukrainian retailer in the segment of beauty and health goodі, in the structure of Ukrainian drugstore chains has grown to 77% in 20 years of operation on the market, and by the end of 2022 it aims at maintaining sales volumes at the level of the previous year, CEO of the company Olha Shevchenko said in an exclusive interview with the Interfax-Ukraine agency.

"If to talk about achievements (for 20 years of work on the market), EVA is the largest Ukrainian retailer in the segment of beauty and health products. Our share in the structure of national drogerie chains reaches 77%. The company is profitable," Shevchenko noted.

She reported that EVA stores are represented in almost every city and town of Ukraine, at the same time, the chain, like a number of other companies, suffered losses as a result of the military aggression of the Russian Federation.

"We set a goal for 2022, taking into account the loss of 16% of stores (due to the war unleashed by Russia against Ukraine), not to show negative dynamics, that is, to maintain the volumes of 2021. It is difficult to predict how far we will succeed in this, but we set such the task," she said.

According to the CEO, in 2021 EVA received UAH 17 billion net income excluding VAT, which is 24% more than in 2020, and net profit grew by 21%.

In addition to selling goods of popular brands, the company continues to develop its own trademarks. Currently, its portfolio includes 51 own brands, the products are regularly recognized by experts at the world level, Shevchenko emphasized.

About 13,000 people work in the network.

"Of them, 65 have been working for more than 15 years, that is, almost the entire time of the company’s existence," the CEO noted.

"The main achievement and wealth of EVA is the team. It is thanks to the team that we have achieved everything we can be proud of, everything that makes us EVA," she said.
