KYIV. Aug 27 (Interfax-Ukraine) – JV Nibulon LLC (Mykolaiv) has completed harvesting early grain crops at a record average yield of grain crops for the group of companies at the level of 46.2 centners per hectare, including 130,000 tonnes of winter wheat from 28,000 hectares, according to the website of the agricultural producer.
Nibulon clarified that all its production divisions have completed harvesting winter wheat on an area of 28,000 hectares, its gross harvest this season has become one of the best over the years of the company’s work and amounted to about 130,000 tonnes. The leaders in the yield of this crop was the Kamyanka branch (Cherkasy region) with an indicator of 56.1 c/ha, as well as Kamyanets-Podilska – 54.9 c/ha and Mriya – 54.5 c/ha (both based in Khmelnytsky region).
The agricultural holding also harvested 7,200 tonnes of winter barley from 1,470 hectares with a yield of 49 c/ha. "A characteristic feature of the current harvest was the almost simultaneous holding of the harvesting campaign in all regions, as well as the rapid movement of equipment to prevent crop losses. In addition, machine and tractor units were formed, which, following the combines, worked the soil as the harvest proceeded in order to preserve moisture and create good conditions for the sowing campaign of the next season," the company said in a statement.
According to Nibulon’s data, more than 170 units of agricultural machinery took part in the harvest this season: 56 John Deere, CASE, Massey Ferguson combines; 35 tractors of the Fendt and CASE brands; more than 80 trucks.
The agricultural company clarified that this season it managed to fully compensate for the shortage of grain crops that occurred last season due to extreme weather conditions.
The agricultural holding noted that it has begun harvesting sunflower in Mykolaiv and Luhansk regions, according to experts’ forecasts, its harvest should become a record – at the level of 50,000 tonnes.
