SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR/IT ASSISTANT

HEKS/EPER is looking for the SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR/IT ASSISTANT.  Base in Odesa.

Job objective

System Administrator works under the direction of Logistics Coordinator. Being a key specialist in the field of IT, protects the critical information of HEKS/EPER employees, systems and assets. Creates technical solutions and implements new software and hardware, provides training and helps employees in solving everyday difficulties with hardware and software. Actively participates in preparations for rallies and, if necessary, provides technical support.

Main tasks and responsibilities

Objectives of this Role

  • Maintain essential IT operations, including operating systems, security tools, applications, email systems, laptops, desktops, software, and hardware
  • Handle critical IT tasks and systems that provide commercial advantage in a global marketplace
  • Enable faster and smarter business processes and implement analytics for meaningful insights
  • Nurture dependable IT infrastructure and networking that’s always up and running
  • Support the partner with internal and external partners to communicate project status, activities, and achievements, if needed

 Daily and Monthly Responsibilities

  • Maintain internal infrastructure requirements including, laptop and desktop computers, routers, switches, firewalls, printers, phones, support internet, intranet, LANs, WANs, and network segments
  • Initial setup of laptops and equipment, installation of the necessary software for new employees
  • Setting up devices required for staff meetings
  • Interact with the help desk and other teams to assist in troubleshooting, identify root cause, and provide technical support when needed
  • Laying or upgrading LANs if necessary

Other tasks

  • Advising the purchasing department and HEKS/EPER employees in writing specifications for technical PR, if needed
  • Upgrade systems with new releases and models.
  • Build an internal wiki with technical documentation, manuals and IT policies

Competencies & requirements

  • Working proficiency in English is desirable.
  • 5-years of experience as a System Administrator, Network Administrator or similar role.
  • Essential minimum technical qualifications.
  • MS Office: advanced knowledge (installation, configuration, working with formulas).
  • Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms.
  • Experience with networks (LAN, WAN) and patch management
  • Ability to install programs, operating systems, work with web applications

Desirable technical qualifications:

  • Knowledge of system security (e.g. intrusion detection systems) and data backup/recovery.
  • Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Flexibility and adaptability to ever-changing needs and responsibilities.
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Familiarity with the aid system and understanding of donor and governmental requirements is an asset.
