Zhydachiv Pulp and Paper Mill increases volume of marketable products by 23% in 2022
KYIV. Jan 18 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Zhydachiv Pulp and Paper Mill (Lviv region), which is part of the Osnova holding, produced marketable products worth UAH 510.8 million in 2022, which is 23.1% more than in 2021.
According to the statistics provided to Interfax-Ukraine by the UkrPapir Association, in kind, the production of corrugated boxes kept a stable upward trend, and grew by 36% over the year to 19.8 million square meters. At the same time, the output of containerboard (including corrugating paper) fell by 11.8% to 13,100 tonnes.
At the same time, a significant decline in paper output continued – by 41.4% to 4,000 tonnes.
As reported with reference to the data of the association, in total last year, the production of paper and cardboard in Ukraine dropped by 44.2% compared to 2021, to 500,600 tonnes, corrugated packaging by 41.1%, to 444.6 million sq. m.
At the same time, the largest Ukrainian manufacturer of corrugated packaging – Rubizhne CPC (Luhansk region) was damaged as a result of Russian aggression and stopped, but its subsidiary in the Kyiv region – Trypilsky packaging plant – continues operating. According to UkrPapir, in 2022 it produced products worth UAH 2.18 billion, and 123.7 million square meters of corrugated packaging were produced (the second indicator after the Kyivsky cardboard and paper mill).
Zhydachiv Pulp and Paper Mill suspended production with the beginning of the invasion of the Russian Federation, but in March, production was resumed.
