Zhydachiv pulp and paper mill increases production by 23.6% in Jan-Nov
KYIV. Dec 16 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Zhydachiv Pulp and Paper Mill (Lviv region), which is part of the holding Osnova, in January-November 2022 increased its production by 23.6% compared to the same period in 2021, to UAH 463.5 million.
According to the statistics provided to Interfax-Ukraine by the UkrPapir Association, thus, following the results of the 11 months, the plant was able to slightly accelerate the growth of this indicator compared to the rate of increase in production in the same period last year (in January-October 2022, it amounted to 21.7% compared to January-October 2021).
In kind, the production of corrugated boxes continues to maintain stable positive dynamics, having increased by 33.7% to 17.8 million square meters. At the same time, the output of containerboard (including corrugated paper) dropped by 13.8% to 11,800 tonnes.
At the same time, a significant reduction in the production of paper remained – a decline of 39.5%, to 3,700 tonnes.
As reported with reference to the data of the association, in January-November 2022, the production of paper and cardboard in Ukraine fell by almost 44% compared to the same period last year, to 459,000 tonnes, corrugated packaging by 41.4%, to 404.3 million sq. m.
At the same time, the largest Ukrainian manufacturer of corrugated packaging, Rubizhne cardboard and packaging mill, was damaged as a result of Russian aggression and stopped, but its subsidiary in Kyiv region, the Trypilsky Packaging Plant, continues operating. According to UkrPapir, in January-November 2022 it produced products worth UAH 1.99 billion, and 114 million square meters of corrugated packaging were produced (the second indicator after the Kyivsky cardboard paper mill).
Zhydachiv mill suspended production with the beginning of the military aggression of the Russian Federation, but in March, production was resumed.
According to the association, another plant in the structure of the holding Osnova – Izmail pulp and cardboard (Odesa region) in January-November increased the volume of marketable products by 1%, to UAH 213 million. In kind, the output of containerboard dropped by 35.9% to 7,000 tonnes, corrugated packaging by 43.5%, to 10.8 million square meters.
