Zhydachiv paper mill reduces production growth rate to 35% in Jan-July
KYIV. Aug 17 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Zhydachiv Pulp and Paper Mill (Lviv region), which is part of Osnova holding, in January-July 2022 increased its production by 35.1% compared to the same period in 2021 – to UAH 287 million.
According to the statistics provided to the Interfax-Ukraine agency by the UkrPapir association, following the results of seven months, the plant slightly slowed down the growth rate of this indicator compared to the same period last year.
In natural terms, the production of corrugated boxes continues to maintain a stable positive trend, having increased by 31.2%, to 10.8 million square meters. At the same time, the output of containerboard (including corrugated paper) decreased by 5.4%, to 7,360 tonnes.
At the same time, there is a significant reduction in paper output – by 43%, to 2,200 tonnes.
As reported, in January-July, taking into account the fact that a number of industry enterprises were either destroyed or damaged or located in the occupied territory, the production of paper and cardboard decreased by 46% compared to the same period last year – to 286,600 tonnes, corrugated packaging by 42.8%, to 242.4 million square meters.
Zhydachiv Paper Mill with the beginning of Russia’s military aggression against Ukraine, like many enterprises in the industry, suspended work due to a break in supply chains and a danger to employees. However, production was resumed in March.
