Zelenskyy: Extension of mandate of intl commission for investigation of Russia’s crimes in Ukraine another step to ensure responsibility of aggressor state
KYIV. April 5 (Interfax-Ukraine) – President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy welcomed the extension of the mandate of the Independent International Commission to Investigate Crimes of the Russian Federation in Ukraine.
“I welcome the mandate extension for UN Independent International Commission of Inquiry on Russian crimes against human rights in Ukraine. This is another important step ensuring the liability of the aggressor state. Grateful to all UN HRC member states for endorsing this decision,” the President of Ukraine said on Twitter Tuesday.
As reported, the UN Human Rights Council at its session on Tuesday adopted a resolution condemning Russia’s violation of human rights in Ukraine and extending the mandate of the Independent International Commission to Investigate Crimes of the Russian Federation in Ukraine for a period of one year.
