Zelensky's wish to discuss Crimea status with Putin calls hypothetical possibility of Russia-Ukraine summit into question – Peskov
MOSCOW. Sept 13 (Interfax) – The statement by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who said that the issue of Crimea’s status must be raised at his meeting with Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, calls the very possibility of a Russia-Ukraine summit into question, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.
Zelensky said he was ready to meet with Putin on condition of discussing "the occupation of Crimea," Ukrainian presidential press secretary Serhiy Nikiforov told reporters.
"A discussion of Crimea is impossible if the question is raised this way. This kind of wording calls the hypothetical possibility of such meeting into question," Peskov said.
