Zelensky's 'Transformation Plan for Ukraine' proposed to Biden based on all reforms implemented in country – Markarova
KYIV. Sept 11 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The basis of the "Transformation Plan of Ukraine," which President Volodymyr Zelensky proposed to U.S. President Joe Biden during a meeting, is the whole range of reforms that are being implemented in the country, Ukrainian Ambassador to the United States Oksana Markarova said in an interview with European Truth.
"All reforms in [the sphere of] democracy, the rule of law, they are all necessary. But what we came to present, including at key meetings that we had at the Pentagon, the Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Trade (because we had together with the president), they concerned exactly the transformation of the economy: what exactly do we want to do in the infrastructure, agriculture, energy […]. As our task is to strengthen our defense capability, at the same time to strengthen our economy as quickly as possible," the publication said, citing Markarova on Friday evening.
According to her, this is a specific plan, which spelled out the current state of affairs in each of the sectors and specific projects on estimates that were offered to U.S. partners, both state, international financial institutions and business, and during the visit many cooperation documents were signed.
"It is absolutely clear that this plan is not enough for this. The basis for this plan is all the other reforms that we are doing," Markarova said, adding that the judicial reform is one of these.
