Zelensky welcomes approval by UN General Assembly Committee of draft resolution on human rights in Crimea
KYIV. Nov 18 (Interfax-Ukraine) – President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky expects the UN General Assembly to approve a draft resolution on human rights in the temporarily occupied Crimea by the end of 2021.
"I welcome the approval by the UN General Assembly Committee of the draft resolution on human rights in temporarily occupied Ukrainian Crimea. Our Crimea platform is in the text of the draft! I look forward to the adoption of the resolution by the UN General Assembly in December," Zelensky said on Twitter on Wednesday evening.
As reported, the Third Committee of the 76th session of the UN General Assembly on November 17 approved the draft updated resolution "The situation with human rights in the temporarily occupied Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol, Ukraine."
