Zelensky visits renovated admission department of Izmail City Central Hospital

KYIV. Oct 30 (Interfax-Ukraine) – President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, as part of a working trip to Odesa region, examined the updated admission department of Izmail City Central Hospital, which was being reconstructed within the framework of the Big Construction national program, the presidential press service reports.

It is noted that construction work began in 2020. New medical equipment, a modern MRI machine, a tomography scanner and an X-ray machine were installed. At the entrance to the department, a ramp was built for the entrance of medical vehicles and people with limited mobility, and the adjacent territory was landscaped. The admission department consists of pediatric and adult departments, has a clinical laboratory, an operating unit, an intensive care unit, a diagnostic service and an examination room.

"The COVID-19 pandemic has set new and tough tasks for Ukrainian healthcare, to which our doctors are looking for answers every day. And one of the main tasks is to provide prompt and qualified assistance to the patient. It is great that the residents of Izmail receive help in the modern admission department of the hospital, where new medical equipment has been installed, and most importantly, qualified and responsive staff works," Zelensky said.

Izmail City Central Hospital is a multidisciplinary medical institution that operates as an intensive care hospital and provides inpatient round-the-clock emergency and planned care, predominantly of a surgical profile, to the population of the city of Izmail, Izmail district and other districts, as well as inpatient round-the-clock care of a therapeutic profile in neurology, pediatric care.

The hospital is designed for 270 beds, including 60 surgical ones. The medical and diagnostic department for adults can receive 770 visitors per shift, and the children’s department can accommodate 140 patients.
