Zelensky visits hospital in Lviv region

KYIV. Aug 18 (Interfax-Ukraine) – President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky visited a hospital in Lviv region on Thursday.

"Lviv region. A hospital where medical care is provided to the military. And our heroes. Those who prove every day that Russia will not win this war. Thank you for defending the Ukrainian land!" he wrote on the Telegram channel.

According to the press service of the head of state, Zelensky asked about the well-being of the wounded servicemen, thanked them for their service and selfless defense of Ukraine and presented state awards.

The President was informed that since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale armed aggression against Ukraine, more than 9,000 servicemen (more than 3,400 wounded, about 2,100 injured and almost 3,600 sick) have been assisted at the medical facility.

The President also took part in the ceremony of remembrance of Ukrainian soldiers who died in the war against the Russian invaders, on the Marsove Pole of Lychakiv cemetery.

Zelensky is expected to meet with Turkish President Recep Erdogan and UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres in Lviv on Thursday.
